The Shanghai CNGBS Artificial Intelligence Industry Research Institute was established under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, through the joint efforts of multiple entities including CNGBS Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Jiao Tong University Cybersecurity Research Institute, and the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Technology Association. Its research focus encompasses conducting studies on artificial intelligence empowering new industrialization; developing AI industry standards, conducting compliance assessments, providing consulting and training, promoting applications, and facilitating cooperation and exchanges. It also accepts projects commissioned by the government. Mr. Shen Xiaopeng from CNGBS Robotics Technology Co., Ltd. serves as the Dean of the Shanghai CNGBS Artificial Intelligence Industry Research Institute.

I. Standard System Research and Promotion

• Conduct research and development related to standard systems for promoting the healthy development of new industrialization through artificial intelligence.

• Collaborate with departments like the Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, focusing on various standards including quality specifications and technical procedures.

• Conduct promotion, dissemination, and evaluation work to address the standardization challenges posed by unclear AI technology classifications.

II. Construction of Two-Way Empowerment Development Channels

• Based on industrial characteristics and demands, create new channels for the two-way empowerment development of AI and new industrialization.

• Strengthen collaborative innovation among localities, industries, enterprises, and academic institutions.

• Leverage common AI technology R&D to drive integrated innovation between the two fields, enhance the general applicability of AI, lower the entry barriers for industrial production, and promote technology-enabled application transfer.

III. Establishment of an Integrated "Industry-University-Research-Application" Innovation System

• Build a product-centric integrated innovation system encompassing industry, academia, research, and application.

• Promote technological R&D for new materials and smart manufacturing in multiple key industrial sectors.

• Accelerate the commercialization of research results and the iterative upgrading of products.

IV. Organization and Implementation of Related Activities

• Organize various activities aimed at advancing new industrialization through AI.

• Activities cover technical training, consulting, information exchange, exhibition services, technology transfer, and product promotion within the industrial field.

• Regularly host innovation development forums, lectures, seminars, etc., to accelerate the formation of new quality productive forces.

V. Undertaking Government-Commissioned Projects

• Accept research and consulting projects commissioned by the government.

• Provide feasibility demonstrations for the government's formulation of development strategies, special plans, and related policies in the field of AI-enabled industries.

• Produce research reports and policy recommendations.
